Worship Services Suspended until further notice

Your Session (church governing board - Susan Boyle, Connor Boyle, David Carlsen, Roberta Tracy, Doug Heywood, and Cassie Carlsen) met Wednesday evening and we have been in communication via email and phone with each new development regarding COVID-19.  We continue to humbly seek God’s wisdom for the good of our entire community as we navigate these unsettling developments.

We have decided, with heavy hearts, to suspend in-person worship services this Sunday, March 15th, and until further noticeWe will offer updates throughout the week next week via email and phone calls to members, as well as posts on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ebpresbyterian/) and our website (http://ebpresbyterian.blogspot.com/).
Just as Jesus Christ cared for the health of his entire community, we believe our actions will help lower the health risks to people in our beloved church family, and in the Western New York community.

Our decision to cancel worship and other gatherings isn’t one we take lightly, and we are aware that you may feel a sense of loss and disruption in an already uncertain time. In many ways, the season of Lent has now moved from one that is merely theoretical and liturgical to one that’s “real.” I encourage you to use the journey of Lent and its wilderness leanings as a lens through which to contemplate this new experience. God did not leave God’s people in the wilderness indefinitely; God always provided a way out. We believe the same today.

Know that your church is still here for you. I am still available to speak with you, pray with you, and care for you, even as we take prudent measures to help protect you. Thank you for your continuing support for one another, and please pray for all those affected by the virus and the caregivers who are on the front lines.

2016 Session & Deacons

2020 Session

What is the Session?
The group of active ruling elders, elected by the congregation, who make decisions for the running of the local church and serve as spiritual leaders of the congregation. In some denominations this group is called the church council. The session has responsibility and power to: provide that the Word of God be preached and heard, primarily through worship; authorize the celebration of the sacraments; receive and dismiss members; provide for the education, ordination, mission, and care of members; oversee financial stewardship and church property; and maintain discipline.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Thanks to all who donated non-perishable food items or money to our collection on Sunday, February  2nd.  Our donations went to our food table which is distributed monthly to local families in need.  Our congregation is always supportive of this mission, through donations on "Souper Bowl" Sunday and throughout the year.

You can leave donations on our food table in the Fellowship Hall anytime.  If you prefer to make a monetary donation, see Bob Carlsen or Susan Boyle.

Thanks for all that you do!

Blessing of the Animals

On Saturday, October 19th we held a "Blessing of the Animals."  Members of the community were invited to bring their pets/furry friends to receive a blessing from Rev. Erin and to join us for a picnic lunch.  Andre Miller, owner of "Zoom 'n Groom," joined us to provide nail clipping in exchange for a donation to the Genesee County Animal Shelter.  It was a fun event and we enjoyed meeting pets in our community.  We were able to make a generous donation to the shelter of pet food and supplies as well.  Below are a few of the new friends we met that day.

Worship in the Park 2018

A few photos from this year's worship in the park....

SUMMER SUNDAYS

During the months of July & August we will be having Sunday Worship at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.  This more relaxed and casual service will last about 45 minutes and will be led by Pastor Erin Jacobson.  Our hope is that this earlier time will allow people to continue to attend worship during the busy summer by making it earlier in the day.  In September we will return to our regular 10:30 AM worship time.  :)  Hope to see you all there!

Worship at Village Green Nursing Home

On Sunday May 20th we held a special worship service at the Village Green Nursing Home in LeRoy.  Members of our church participated in a service for the residents of the nursing home and enjoyed dessert and coffee with them after the service.  Pastor Erin led the service and Mark Barie provided music.  The residents seems to really enjoy it and it was great to be able to visit with them afterwards.  We will definitely be doing this again!
